Partnership for Drug-Free Kids

New York, NY 7/2013-2/2018

My experience at the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids (known at that time as the Partnership at Drug-Free.org) in July of 2013. Originally known as the Partnership for a Drug-Free America, the organization is probably best known for the iconic “This is your brain on drugs” television ad. At the time the Partnership had quite a few sites in addition to the main site drugfree.org: Play Healthy combated the use of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs, The Medicine Abuse project combated the abuse of prescription drugs, and there where also subdomains for memorials to people who lost their battle with drug addiction, stories of hope that featured people’s success in overcoming addiction, and more.

I was part of the initiative to bring the individual sites under the main drugfree.org site. Part of this included a website redesign that launched in 2014 and another redesign in 2017. I managed an in-house developer as well as outside agencies.

Later, I would explore the possibilities of bringing chat technology into the Partnership. For more information on the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids, see their wikipedia entry, or visit www.drugfree.org.
